Crypto Casino Glossary
The terms you'll actually run into on a crypto casino site, defined in plain language, in one place.
Bonuses & VIP
RakebackA percentage of the house edge you've already generated through wagering, paid back to you regardless of whether you won or lost that session. Unlike a deposit bonus, it usually carries no separate wagering requirement. See our bonus codes breakdown for how this works on Gamdom specifically.
Wagering requirementThe multiple of a bonus amount you must bet before you can withdraw it or its winnings. A $10 bonus with a 20x requirement means $200 in total wagers before it's withdrawable.
Negative carryoverA VIP program structure where a losing period reduces or cancels rewards earned in a future period. Programs without negative carryover pay out what you've earned regardless of how later sessions go.
VIP tierA wagering-volume-based level that unlocks better rakeback percentages, faster withdrawal processing, or a dedicated account manager. Tiers are typically calculated on lifetime or rolling wagering totals, not deposit size alone.
Deposit bonus / match bonusBonus funds credited when you deposit, calculated as a percentage of the deposit amount up to a cap, almost always attached to a wagering requirement before withdrawal.
Fairness & odds
Provably fairA verification system that lets you mathematically confirm a round's outcome wasn't altered after you placed your bet, using a server seed, client seed, and hash comparison. See our full provably fair explainer for the step-by-step version.
Server seedA random value generated by the casino before a round, shown to you only as a hash until after the round resolves, at which point the real seed is revealed for verification.
Client seedA value you can set yourself (or accept a default for) that combines with the server seed to determine a round's outcome, giving you a way to influence the input without controlling the result.
NonceA counter that increments with each bet, used alongside the seeds so that repeated bets with the same seeds don't produce identical outcomes.
RTP (Return to Player)The long-run percentage of wagered funds a game returns to players on average, calculated over a very large number of rounds. A 97% RTP means a 3% house edge over the long run, not a guarantee for any single session.
House edgeThe mathematical advantage built into every casino game that ensures the operator profits over a large enough sample size, regardless of individual session outcomes. It applies the same way no matter which platform you play on.
Games
CrashA game where a multiplier climbs from 1.00x until it randomly "crashes," and players try to cash out before that happens. See our Crash game guide for mechanics and cash-out timing.
OriginalsGames built and hosted directly by the casino itself (Crash, Dice, Hilo, Mines, and similar), as opposed to licensed slot titles from third-party game studios.
Multiplier curveThe mathematical distribution governing how often a Crash-style game produces low versus high multipliers, which determines the game's built-in house edge.
Deposits, withdrawals & verification
No-KYCPlay without submitting identity documents, usually up to a set withdrawal threshold. Most platforms, Gamdom included, require verification once you cross that limit, so this typically means delayed KYC rather than none at all. See our no-KYC explainer for what triggers a check.
KYC (Know Your Customer)Identity verification, usually a government ID and sometimes a selfie or proof of address, required by most licensed operators before larger withdrawals to comply with anti-money-laundering rules.
Manual reviewAn additional withdrawal check triggered by factors like unusually large amounts, new payment methods, or account flags, which adds processing time beyond the platform's normal payout speed. See our withdrawal times breakdown by coin and tier.
Minimum payoutThe smallest amount a platform will process as a single withdrawal, which varies by coin and by casino.
Why this matters
None of these terms change the underlying math: house edge applies to every game, on every platform, regardless of rakeback, VIP tier, or bonus structure. Knowing the vocabulary helps you compare offers accurately, not beat the odds.
Frequently asked questions
What does no-KYC mean at a crypto casino?
No-KYC means the platform lets you deposit, play, and withdraw up to a certain limit without submitting identity documents. Most crypto casinos, including Gamdom, still require verification once your withdrawal volume crosses a set threshold, so no-KYC in practice usually means delayed KYC, not permanently skipped KYC.
Is rakeback the same as a deposit bonus?
No. A deposit bonus adds bonus funds when you deposit, usually with wagering requirements attached before you can withdraw. Rakeback returns a percentage of the house edge you've already generated through wagering, regardless of whether you deposited recently, and typically carries no separate wagering requirement of its own.
Does a high RTP mean a game is rigged in your favor?
No. RTP is a long-run statistical average across many thousands of rounds, not a guarantee for any individual session. A 97% RTP game still has a built-in house edge (3% in that example) that applies over time regardless of short-term results.
